Position Overview:

We are hiring an
Underwriter
to support our London operations. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in
lending, MCA loans, or SME/SMB credit underwriting
, with a solid foundation in financial services or fintech. This role involves reviewing applications, analyzing risk, and supporting senior underwriters in making data-driven credit decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze credit applications and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in assessing financial risk for individual and business clients.
  • Support the underwriting team in decision-making by providing data-driven insights.
  • Prepare underwriting reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely processing of applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable financial regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in lending, loans, or credit underwriting
    within fintech, banking, or financial services.
  • Proven experience in assessing credit applications for SMEs, SMBs, or consumer lending portfolios.
  • Strong financial analysis skills, including the ability to interpret balance sheets, cash flow, and collateral valuations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Advanced analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Familiarity with risk management tools, data-driven underwriting processes, and credit decisioning systems.
