Your new company

A fast-growing scale-up business within a global group is transforming internal capabilities into innovative, customer-facing solutions across procurement, business solutions, and emerging circular economy initiatives. Combining the best attributes of a formalised corporate environment with the energy of a start-up, this company offers a unique opportunity to work on complex, groundbreaking projects in a fast-evolving landscape.

Your new role

You will join a newly established legal team as a senior commercial lawyer on an interim basis until September, providing first-class legal and business support across a wide range of matters. This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility and commercial acumen to address new and unforeseen challenges in a dynamic environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a key point of contact for senior management and business units on legal aspects of operations
  • Drafting, negotiating, and managing complex commercial and technology contracts with suppliers, customers, and partners
  • Advising on regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and data privacy issues
  • Collaborating with compliance teams on regulated activities and integrating new regulatory requirements into business processes
  • Managing external counsel and supporting dispute resolution where necessary
  • Driving improvements in legal service quality and contributing to policy development
  • This role offers exposure to significant commercial transactions and strategic initiatives, with the chance to shape legal frameworks for a growing business.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you'll need to be a qualified lawyer with substantial post-qualification experience (typically 5-7+ years), gained in private practice and ideally in-house. Key requirements include:

  • Strong experience in commercial and technology contracts, with exposure to telecoms, IP, privacy, and outsourcing
  • FCA regulatory compliance experience would be advantageous
  • Ability to lead negotiations and manage complex transactions across multiple jurisdictions
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to represent Legal at senior levels
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Outstanding communication and project management skills

What you'll get in return

  • Day rate of up to £700 (PAYE Premium)
  • Hybrid working (central London office, 3 days per week)
  • Opportunity to work on unique, high-impact projects in a scale-up environment backed by a global brand
  • A collaborative culture combining corporate stability with start-up agility
