Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to lead the financial operations of our production and service-based business in Bristol. This pivotal role involves overseeing the day-to-day running of the finance department, managing cash flow, payroll, forecasting, and statutory reporting. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong analytical skills and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee the daily operations of the finance department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all functions

· Lead weekly cash flow meetings with the MD, providing clear financial insights and updates

· Produce and maintain a three-month rolling cash flow forecast to support strategic planning

· Approve supplier pay runs and ensure timely and accurate payments

· Input monthly payroll data, key and submit the pay run once approved

· Take full ownership of the debtor ledger, including monitoring aged debt and driving recovery efforts

· Prepare working papers for external accountants to support the production of statutory accounts

· Lead the preparation of the annual budget for the business and its sister companies

· Submit quarterly VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial decision-making and operational improvements

Qualifications & Skills

ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (qualified by experience considered)

· Proven experience in a finance leadership role within a production or service environment

· Strong understanding of cash flow management, payroll processing, and financial forecasting

· Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

Knowledge of UK VAT regulations and statutory reporting requirements

Working Conditions

Based in Bristol

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £22,500.00 per year
