Working exclusively daytime hours, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our daily menus, leading the brigade, and elevating every plate that leaves the pass.
The Role
As Sous Chef, you will be the driving force alongside the Head Chef, ensuring excellence across all aspects of kitchen operations. You'll combine hands-on cooking with strategic oversight, guiding your team to deliver refined dishes that reflect The Noshery & Co's distinctive culinary identity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in all areas of kitchen management and service execution.
- Lead by example during prep and service, ensuring impeccable standards of flavour, presentation, and timing.
- Develop and implement seasonal menus in line with the restaurant's creative direction.
- Supervise and mentor junior chefs, fostering growth, discipline, and professionalism.
- Maintain full compliance with health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
- Manage ordering, stock rotation, and cost control to achieve budgetary targets.
- Oversee daily mise en place and ensure smooth service transitions.
- Contribute to the ongoing refinement of recipes, plating, and kitchen processes.
- Uphold and enhance The Noshery & Co's reputation for exceptional daytime dining experiences.
About You
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up.
- Deep understanding of modern café and restaurant cookery, with an appreciation for local and seasonal produce.
- Exceptional organisational skills and calm under pressure.
- A genuine leader — inspiring, communicative, and solution-oriented.
- Meticulous attention to detail, with a creative flair and a commitment to excellence.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and allergen management.
