We're recruiting an
Operations Director
for an established events venue in North West, England. This is a rare opportunity to lead operational transformation at a venue with significant commercial potential.
Our client operates a successful multi-use venue hosting large-scale public events, corporate events, conferences, and live entertainment. The venue benefits from strong transport connectivity and modern infrastructure. Following a strategic governance review, they're seeking an experienced operational leader to drive performance and establish best-practice frameworks.
This is a hybrid hands-on operational delivery working with a savvy commercial and strategic MD to reshape operations for sustainable growth, facing various headwinds and challenges.
Reporting to the MD, you'll provide senior operational leadership across:
- Venue operations
- event delivery, guest experience, service standards
- Facilities & maintenance
- asset management, preventative programmes and 3rd parties
- Health & safety
- compliance, risk management, safety culture
- Commercial development
- revenue optimisation, business growth
- Team leadership
- line management of operational teams - hands-on gets involved
- Strategic planning
- operational strategy, performance frameworks
You'll work alongside sports partners and commercial clients in a venue with strong foundations and clear improvement opportunities.
Essential:
✓ Proven experience managing
multi-use music/sports/events venues or similar complex operations
✓
NEBOSH General Certificate
or equivalent H&S qualification
✓ Demonstrable track record of
operational excellence and commercial growth
✓ Strong commercial acumen with P&L understanding
✓ Experience leading teams through
change and improvement programmes
✓ Professional stakeholder management capability with multiple stakeholders
Highly Desirable:
✓ Event management qualifications or extensive practical experience
✓ Background in venue safety, catering (in-house) and licensing
✓ Track record implementing
performance frameworks
