About the Role
This role sits within our Delivery Team and you will be supporting cohorts of learners through tuition using a variety of platforms and methods (online, face-to-face, workshops, group sessions, etc.). This is a freelance temporary role for L2 Heath and Social Care Diploma learners starting in January 2026 and ending 31st July 2026.
We are looking for an ideal successful applicant to have a background that includes hands on experience within Health and Social Care, alongside Tutoring/assessor experience within the field. You will have a teaching and assessing qualification and a relevant vocational qualification at least at the level you'll be teaching. This role is a paid on a per learner rate.
PLEASE NOTE: The role is largely remote with some commute to London as f2f observations are required. JGA's registered address is Harrow, but commute locations will be spread out within the Greater London area and we are looking for someone who lives in London/Greater London or within a commutable distance.
Your Responsibilities as a Tutor
- Plan, teach and evaluate training, to the agreed policy and standards
- Utilise the appropriate initial assessment of learners to establish their starting point and plan learning accordingly
- Set learner work according to the requirements of the appropriate course, create Assessment Plans in line with the Standard and awarding body requirements
- Mark learner work, providing detailed feedback which ensures learners understand what they need to improve or develop, in a timely fashion
- Promote the safety and well-being of all learners
- Use naturally occurring opportunities to promote British Values, Prevent, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
- Prepare learners for assignments, exams (where appropriate) and provide assessment of learners' skills, behaviours and knowledge in compliance with Assessment Policy
- Conduct Observations of workplace competence where this is a mandatory part of the qualification standard
Your General Responsibilities
- Comply with the internal quality assurance strategy to ensure assessments are delivered to a high standard
- Ensure the learner completes scheduled assessments, tasks and presentations in a timely fashion
- Contribute to the progress reviews of learners, liaising with the appropriate Coach/Learner Progress Adviser/employer/mentor (where applicable) to ensure that learners' targets are being met and they are progressing
- Attend relevant events and promote the JGA Group products where the opportunity arises
- Undertake professional development activities and training and attend meetings, such as Standardisation, as appropriate to ensure that statutory and regulatory requirements are met
- Undertake any other reasonable request from managers and colleagues
What We're Looking For
- FE Teaching Qualification (eg, Cert Ed, DTTLS, L3 Cert in Education & Training)
- Relevant Assessor qualification (CAVA, D32/33, TAQA, A1)
- Relevant vocational qualification at least at the level you are expected to teach
- Minimum of L2 English and maths
- Good working knowledge of a range of assessment methods, including formative and summative assessment
- Competent in the use of ICT, particularly Microsoft Office programmes
- Ability to learn, understand and convey key features of JGA's training programmes
- Good communication skills at a variety of levels
- Recent relevant management experience in a Health & Social Care setting
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently

- Maintain professional relationships with all learners
- Achieve a DBS Disclosure satisfactory to JGA
- IQA qualification/experience would be hugely advantageous
Training will be provided, where required. This role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and proof of qualifications. An online search may be carried our as part of our recruitment process and commitment to best practise.
