Asset Supervisor

About the role

Are you passionate about improving infrastructure and making a tangible difference in your community? We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Highways and Environment team at Cormac.

Using asset management principles, the post holder will manage data using Pavement and Routine Maintenance Management Systems to identify areas of work from condition surveys and defect information.

As part of our small but dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in managing Cornwall's highway network. Using asset management principles, you will commission and oversee both maintenance and improvement works, ensuring our roads are safe, efficient, and well-maintained. You will manage data using Pavement and Routine Maintenance Management Systems to identify areas of work and build annual programmes within available budgets.

Some duties include:

• Manage data using Pavement and Routine Maintenance Management Systems to pinpoint maintenance needs based on surveys and defect reports.
• Assess and evaluate requests for surface treatments from service providers, local members, and the public.
• Develop and coordinate annual work programmes in alignment with budget constraints and asset management objectives.
• Liaise with network staff and service providers to plan and programme maintenance works effectively.
• Monitor and manage works orders, ensuring optimal budget utilisation.
• Conduct on-site audits and inspections of contractor work, resolving queries and approving variations where necessary.
• Support insurance claims and legal proceedings by gathering relevant data and providing court statements as required.
• Ensure all work is carried out in adherence to relevant Health & Safety regulations.
• Seek opportunities to innovate within the asset management field in order provide increased value for money, efficiency of delivery, decarbonisation and overall value to the community.

About You

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate the following qualities and qualifications:

The following qualifications and experience are essential:

• HNC in Civil Engineering or other appropriate subject, or significant experience in Highway/Transportation Infrastructure.
• Substantial experience of highways maintenance and construction including previous supervisory experience.
• Experience of contract detail and specifications
• Knowledge of measurement and valuation of highways works
• Ability to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision
• Good and proven level of IT skills

The following qualifications and experience are desirable:

• Streetworks and Health and Safety experience
• CSCS Card, NRSWA Supervisors Certificate and CITB site manager health and safety certificate.

Salary: £26,790 - £41,976 Depending on experience

Working Hours: 37 hours a week
