Role Description
As an Actuarial Analyst, you will input into quarterly reserving exercises, regular business planning and forecasting, business partnering with Pricing, Underwriting, Finance and Risk, actuarial reporting and input to capital modelling.

This is a hybrid role based in either Guildford or London.

Salary Information
Pay: Circa £39,000 - £60,000 per year, depending on progress in actuarial professional exams

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

  • Inputs into the production, monitoring and communication of quarterly reserves on UK GAAP, IFRS17 and Solvency II bases in line with Allianz policies and professional standards
  • Inputs into the implementation of the Actuarial Function responsibilities
  • Contributes to capital modelling
  • Participates in the actuarial input into the annual business planning and regular business forecasting processes
  • Supports the Actuary with the business partnering, inputting into analysis to support Smart Circle discussions and ensuring claims trends are well understood and are an integral part of underwriting performance discussions

  • Develops strong relationships with the Actuarial team and starts to build relationship with stakeholders including portfolio managers and business finance managers

Essential Skills

  • Strong Excel and coding (e.g. Python)
  • Developing familiarity with actuarial reserving or capital modelling techniques and software
  • Developing general insurance experience in at least one of reserving, pricing or capital modelling
  • Good communications skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft suite
  • Student of the Fellow of the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries (or equivalent) would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • Strong academic record, with a degree in a quantitative subject such as Mathematics or Economics
