Job Title: Set Installation Assistant (Confident Driver – Nationwide Travel)

Location: Based from Wallsend (travel across the UK required)

Hours: Variable – mainly evening and overnight work

Contract: Full-time / Project-based

Accommodation provided when working away

Rate £15-£20 per hour depending on experience

About the Role

We're seeking a confident and reliable Set Installation Assistant to join our hardworking team. This is a hands-on role involving the installation and assembly of sets and displays within shopping centres, primarily after trading hours.

You'll work as part of a small team travelling across the UK, ensuring installations are completed to a high standard and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation and breakdown of sets and displays in shopping centres and venues nationwide
  • Follow site plans and instructions to achieve the required layout and finish
  • Work confidently alongside a build and installation team, taking responsibility for aspects of the setup when needed
  • Drive company vehicles (long wheelbase and Luton vans) to transport materials and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve on site, ensuring smooth installations and meeting tight deadlines
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude when working with clients and venue staff

Requirements

  • Confident, competent driver (must be able to drive long wheelbase and Luton vans)
  • Willing and able to work away from home (accommodation provided)
  • Comfortable working after hours and overnight in shopping centres
  • Previous experience in set building, event installation, or a similar hands-on role preferred
  • Good eye for detail and pride in delivering a high-quality finish
  • Able to read site plans and follow instructions accurately
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills – able to think on your feet and make quick, practical decisions
  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable taking initiative when required
