About the role

  • I am a member of the Jet Centre team and work collaboratively to deliver a VIP service to discreet and confidential clientele.
  • I support in the running of the day-to-day operation of the Jet Centre.
  • I ensure consistent, excellent, and professional customer service is always provided to all internal and external customers.
  • I play an integral role in the Ramp and Operations Team by ensuring all ramp and hangar activities are carried out safely and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • I ensure standard operating procedures; safe systems of work and ground operations manual are always followed correctly. I comply with GDPR processes when handling critical business and client information and data.
  • I am responsible for responding to any queries from clients, operations, and aircraft operations.
  • I will follow IS-BAH Protocols (International Standard for Business Aircraft Handlers) at all times.
  • I upkeep and maintain all Jet Centre property, including the lounge, ramp area, hangar, vehicles and ground service equipment.
  • I ensure that my uniform, PPE and personal hygiene requirements are adhered to when at work and representing the Jet Centre, whether at the Jet Centre, on client visits or global events as required.
  • I am the port of call for all ramp/hangar and aircraft operations when on shift. I support the Ramp and Operations Team in ensuring the ramp and hangar duties are always conducted safely and efficiently and take ownership of all aircraft on our ramp, ensuring a safe environment for both the clients and the Jet Centre.
  • I ensure all handling requests are responded to appropriately and in a timely manner, whilst supporting my colleagues with the full process of actioning a flights request. I take control of the daily operational requests into the Jet Centre when on shift.
  • I guide and mentor new team members in the expectations of ramp/hangar service delivery through the sharing of my knowledge and experience.
  • I ensure all interactions with stakeholders are focused on being flexible and positive, providing our customers with a high quality and consistent service.
  • I am responsible for ensuring accurate investigation of operational incidents is recorded, documented, and escalated in line with company policy/procedures and is reported to my line manager in a timely manner.
  • I liaise with third party providers that supply services to the Jet Centre and its clients, ensuring the services are always to the highest level and to the scope requested whilst maintaining a good working relationship with the suppliers.
  • I can demonstrate physical fitness and recognise a portion of my role is to regularly lift/or move baggage and/or equipment. I will be working outside in all weather conditions.
  • I understand that due to the nature of aviation when delays occur, I will be required to be flexible, and this may mean staying past my scheduled finish time without prior notice.
  • I understand that London Southend Airport has a 'One Team' culture so there will be occasions where I myself identify the need to, or I am asked to, directly support or I am required to, undertake other activities to support the needs of the business. 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Previous ground handling experience, preferably with private jets and general aviation aircraft.

Previous experience working with VIP's, celebrities or sports teams.

Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills

Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
