Reports to: Club Manager, Operations Director
Overview: Cascade Kids is a family run company that is friendly and lively. We run wrap around care provision for schools as well as activity, adventure and sport experiences for children and young people. Our full-time and seasonal staff teams are full of energetic, motivated people who are passionate about what they do and who love providing experiences for children.
The ideal person for this role with us will be confident, outgoing, good-natured, engaging, energetic and highly organised. They should have high levels of customer care as well as safety awareness. They will have excellent communication skills, be attentive to detail, and take safety and fun seriously.
Job purpose: To ensure every child in the club feels safe and welcome and has such a great time that they can't wait to come back. To provide an experience that is safe, active and fun for every child. The role will be based in Berkhamsted. This is a challenging role that involves a high level of responsibility and requires high levels of safety awareness, strong time management capability, a professional approach at all times and loads of energy. But it's also loads of fun and our staff are the best in the world.
Key responsibilities for the Before and After School Club Leader will include the following:
- Support the Club Director in delivering safe and successful clubs in line with the operating procedures set out by Cascade Kids, and in accordance to additional information provided in training.
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all children in the club.
- Manage the requirements and behaviour of every child under your supervision and care.
- Report any hazards, damaged equipment/resources or safety concerns to the appropriate manager.
- Help children become familiar with the club and help them feel confident, safe and settled.
- Manage timings.
- Encourage all children to take part and create in inclusive environment.
- Responsible for supervising a group of children and ensuring their needs are met.
- Share details with parents of their child's experience each day during sign out.
- Ensure that the welfare of the children is of top priority.
- Lead and engage children and participate in activity sessions.
- Responsible for leading a variety of exciting activity sessions in a safe and structured manner, adhering to operating procedures set out by Cascade Kids.
- Adapt sessions according to the age, ability and interests of the children.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
Essential Attributes
- Are over the age of 18 and have high levels of initiative.
- Very good interpersonal skills and positive working relationships with colleagues.
- Are responsible, caring and organised and consistently exhibit an enthusiastic approach to the role.
- Confident in leading a group of children.
- Hold an enhanced DBS (we can assist you in obtaining this if required).
- Excellent at motivating others and high levels of verbal communication skills.
- Energetic and responsible and ensure the children are always safe and having fun.
- Have a great manner with children and young people.
- Have a great attitude and willingness to help where needed.
- Ability to work under pressure and be professional at all times.
- Excellent timekeeping, reliability and trustworthiness.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience working with groups of young people.
- Early Years qualification or coaching or other activity specific qualifications.
- Have a Paediatric First Aid certificate or other up-to-date first aid qualification. If not, we may assist you in obtaining.
