Job Introduction
Chawton CE Primary School is a small rural school located in the beautiful village of Chawton, just outside Alton. We have a strong Christian ethos and special family atmosphere that infiltrates into all that we do in our school.
We are looking to recruit a Finance and HR officer who is welcoming, motivated, highly organised, flexible, numerate and resilient and who enjoys the challenge of working in a busy office environment whilst undertaking all front of house duties.
This is an exciting and lively role at the hub of the school, involving working with staff, governor's pupils and parents. The successful candidate will be experienced and highly skilled in managing a wide range of tasks and leading the office team. A financial background is necessary to support the Headteacher in all budgetary, grants and HR matters.

We are looking for a colleague who:
- Enjoys working in a busy school environment, where every day is different and dynamic
- Holds Maths and English (Grade C or above) qualifications or equivalent
- Is confident and proactive in establishing and maintaining administrative systems for a busy school office and leading the office team
- Has good ICT skills and the ability to produce a range of documents using Microsoft packages
- Has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Has excellent communication skills (oral and written) enabling them to communicate calmly and effectively in a warm and professional manner
- Has the ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and cope with many interruptions
- Uses their initiative and thrive through a "can do" approach to resolving problems
- Has the highest level of confidentiality
- Is prepared to carry out other duties such as first aid and administration of medicines
- Knowledge of school software; Arbor, SAP and the IBC would be an great advantage
- Has experience of financial management and grants including budgeting, forecasts, reports and managing invoices.
- Is Excellent multi-tasking skills and a good sense of humour
- Experience of HR tasks including recruitment, on boarding new staff, processes travel claims and looking after staff personnel files
