We are currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant who will be supporting children with SEND so that they can thrive in a mainstream setting.

Job Details
Salary: Grade 3 scp 3 (Pro-Rata)
Contract Type: Fixed term (1 year)
Working Pattern: Term time only
Location: Sheddingdean school

What You Need to Succeed
To be successful in the role you will need to:
- Have experience of working with children with varying needs primary or preschool setting (essential)
- Have a good level of written and spoken English and functional level of mathematical skills and knowledge. (essential)
- Have NVQ2 or equivalent as recognised by the National Occupational Standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning (NOS-STL) (desirable)
- Have knowledge and understanding of the different social, cultural and physical needs of pupils. (essential)
- Have an interest in how children learn and behave. (essential)
- Provide appropriate role models of behaviour both in the classroom and around school (essential)
- Really care about children, particularly those who find learning and managing their behaviour difficult. (essential)
- Understand how children communicate in different ways (essential)
- Have training in aspects of SEN, i.e. ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism (desirable)
