TikTok Shop's Governance and Experience (GNE) is a global team responsible for ensuring our marketplace is safe and trustworthy for not only users, but also sellers and creators. We value user satisfaction and work on policies, rules and systems to ensure quality.

The Senior Manager role is essential to portfolio management within the listing and compliance domain. This includes drafting policies and driving their end-to-end operational implementation, as well as overseeing and implementing regulatory compliance controls, product safety, and product quality. You will lead complex, cross-functional initiatives that enhance TikTok Shop's governance and customer experience (GNE). In this role, you will take ownership of multiple high-priority projects and ensure alignment with organizational goals, timely execution, and measurable impact. You will also serve as the primary point of contact for business requirement documents, product requests, and algorithm refinements. The ideal candidate combines strong policy development and project management expertise with exceptional problem-solving, communication, and compliance experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Risk Detection & Mitigation: Audit existing platform controls and policies to proactively identify governance gaps and implement product measures to mitigate regulatory, safety, and operational risks.

  • Translate regulatory requirements into effective product and platform controls: Receiving and interpreting requests from regulators, including government recalls, and working with internal teams to action in platform controls.

  • Strategic Planning: Define project scopes, objectives, and success metrics, ensuring alignment with broader organizational strategies.

  • Project Design: Designing projects involving multiple team members and XFN team members, managing resources effectively, ensuring project teams are supported to deliver high-quality outcomes.

  • Cross-Function Collaboration: Establish effective collaboration with technical teams to develop the best listing governance and product compliance solutions for our business.

  • Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes, tools, and workflows.

  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on project progress, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making and optimize outcomes.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant field.

  • Extensive risk management experience including 5+ years of consumer product compliance/safety related risk management experience.

  • Experience with EU and UK consumer product safety issues in categories of consumer products, such as consumer electronics, beauty and personal case, toys, or baby products.

  • Self starter with the ability to autonomously define problems, implement solutions and manage strategies, for topics that may not be well-defined and require new and innovative technologies

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align senior leaders.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to manage ambiguity.

  • Strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct working experience in driving EU-specific product compliance, product safety, illegal product strategy.

  • Proficient in analysis capability and tools (Excel, Access, SQL) for data analysis and reporting.

  • Experience working on government recalls in Europe.

  • Curiosity and ability to learn new technology and subject matter areas.
