About Gelato

Gelato has created the world's largest global network for on-demand production of custom products – from t-shirts and mugs to books and wall art. We empower a new generation of ecommerce entrepreneurs to share their creativity worldwide while embracing local, sustainable production. By producing locally and perfectly matching supply with demand, we eliminate waste and reduce carbon emissions.

At Gelato, we don't own production facilities – we build the software that connects them. With over 140 production partners in 32 countries, our network can deliver custom products to five billion people in just 72 hours. It's smarter, faster, and greener.

With GelatoConnect, our SaaS platform, we're driving innovation in print production. GelatoConnect simplifies operations for print producers by automating procurement, workflows, and logistics into one seamless system. By boosting efficiency and cutting costs, it helps businesses scale to meet market demands. With GelatoConnect, we're reshaping the print industry to be more efficient, sustainable, and profitable.

More About Gelato

GelatoConnect Logistics (GCL) is one of the three core modules of GelatoConnect, alongside Procurement and Workflow. GCL connects production hubs, carriers, and ecommerce platforms through a data-driven, AI-enabled logistics network - ensuring every order is shipped with optimal cost, speed, and sustainability.

You'll join a talented, forward-thinking team that believes in redefining what's possible when software, logistics, and AI intersect. Together, we're building the logistics platform of the future - intelligent, automated, and global.

The Role

Reporting to the SVP of GelatoConnect Logistics, you will play a central role in building the next generation of logistics - one that uses AI, automation, and data to move products smarter, faster, and more sustainably.

This is both a strategic and hands-on position: you'll lead complex carrier negotiations while building the systems and automation that make those negotiations faster, smarter, and scalable. You'll identify inefficiencies, design solutions, and execute them - directly shaping how Gelato connects its global network of partners and customers.

GelatoConnect Logistics (GCL) is a platform business within Gelato. We're not only improving how shipments move; we're redefining how logistics services are designed, priced, and delivered through technology. You'll help lead this transformation by expanding our carrier base, strengthening integrations, and making GCL's services indispensable to both Gelato's internal network and our external customers.

Your success will be measured not just by commercial outcomes but by how effectively you build systems that scale - turning today's manual processes into intelligent, self-improving workflows that drive long-term growth.

Why this role is exciting: You're not joining a traditional logistics company - you're joining a software-led business that's building a logistics platform from the ground up. You'll get to work at the intersection of technology, AI, and global supply chains, developing capabilities that are shaping the future of how goods move around the world. This is an opportunity to grow your career in one of the few places where logistics, software, and sustainability converge - and to have visible, measurable impact every day.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead strategic carrier relationships across our global network, negotiating rates, surcharges, and service terms that deliver measurable cost savings and performance improvements.
  • Build and automate workflows for rate management, RFQs, contract tracking, and carrier onboarding - ensuring scalability without increasing headcount.
  • Use data and AI tools (e.g., n8n, Zapier, Cursor, Python, Looker, BigQuery) to analyze cost impacts, forecast changes, and design automation that supports smarter decision-making.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Finance to translate carrier insights into product features and pricing strategies.
  • Work directly with carriers like UPS, DHL, FedEx, Amazon Shipping, and regional leaders to expand our coverage and deliver exceptional service quality.
  • Continuously experiment and learn - applying AI, data, and automation to simplify how logistics is managed and executed across a global network.
  • Represent Gelato externally with professionalism and credibility, aligning carriers with our mission of sustainable, technology-led logistics.

Who You Are

You are not a traditional logistics leader - you're a builder, problem-solver, and operator who thrives in environments where technology is reshaping how things get done. You think in systems, act with speed, and learn new tools instinctively.

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain operations, or supplier management, ideally within a tech-enabled or data-driven environment.
  • Proven success in supplier or carrier negotiations, achieving measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Fluent with AI and automation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Zapier, n8n) and curious about applying them to complex operational workflows.
  • Data-driven and analytical, comfortable using SQL, Python, or visualization tools to inform decisions.
  • Hands-on and execution-oriented - you see inefficiency and fix it rather than waiting for permission.
  • Commercially sharp, technically curious, and able to balance cost, performance, and scalability.
  • Thrive in fast-paced, high-ownership environments, where experimentation and learning are daily habits.

What You'll Get at Gelato

  • The opportunity to build and scale a new global logistics platform within one of Europe's fastest-growing technology companies.
  • The ability to scale your own impact through AI and automation, working directly with data scientists, engineers, and senior leaders.
  • A chance to shape how logistics services are delivered and monetized for customers around the world.
  • A mission-driven culture that values learning, ownership, and long-term thinking.
  • The satisfaction of seeing your work directly improve cost, speed, and sustainability across global supply chains.
