Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and culinary arts, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to food safety. As a Chef, you will be responsible for all Kitchen related activities, ensuring high standards of food preparation, and delivering exceptional dining experiences in our restaurant.

Duties

  • Food production processes to ensure quality and consistency in all dishes served.
  • Cook and prepare meals according to the restaurant's menu, ensuring that all dishes meet presentation and taste expectations.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings that reflect current culinary trends.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and ingredients, placing orders as necessary to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment and utensils, ensuring they are in good working order.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a breakfast Chef
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food preparation.
  • Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • Proficient in various cooking techniques and cuisines, with a passion for culinary arts.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends as required by the Cafes schedule. Cafe's opening hours are 8-8, kitchen closes at 5pm.
