Purpose of the role:
To design, lead and deliver group derivative and hedging accounting and projects for Trading and Treasury functions. To develop and take ownership of the associated controls and processes framework, and support existing and new workstreams as the group continues to grow.
Critical Responsibilities:
Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures.
Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:
Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy's Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required .
Areas of Accountability, Responsibilty and Competence:
General day-to-day activities including:
Provide support for financial instrument modelling and support journals for SAP, including but not limited to calculation of mark-to-market valuations, interest accruals, mark-to-market valuations, and debt restructuring Review group derivative and hedging performance (P&L) and positions (balance sheet) Support Trading and Treasury system to SAP GL interface operations Management and continual improvement of the ongoing hedge accounting documentation and effectiveness testing covering financial and physical commodities, foreign exchange, interest rate swaps and cross currency swaps etc. Provide weighted average cost of borrowing information to Group for interest capitalisation purposes Support and review Expected Credit Loss calculations from business units Performing Trading and Treasury specific monthly/quarterly/annual Harbour group reporting and provisions of notes disclosures Management of Treasury intercompany balances and related loan documentation Support Business Units with Trading and Treasury accounting entries as required Support internal and external audits Provide input into the ongoing development of a foreign exchange and interest rate hedging framework Support the Trading and Treasury functions on day-to-day operations Support projects re debt capital markets and M&A activity, developing expected credit loss framework etc. Ensure Trading and Treasury Standards are understood and adhered toDesign, lead and deliver system accounting projects including, but not limited to:
Treasury management system accounting module implementation including SAP S4 HANA GL interface development (project currently on hold) Design and implement a robust hedge accounting framework & documentation, including associated hedge effectiveness testing Represent Treasury Accounting on Tax restructuring projects Development of Treasury Accounting controls/procedures/frameworkCritical Skills, Qualifications, Experience, etc.:
Recognised qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.) Extensive, proven Treasury Accounting experience, with Treasury project/ transformation experience Solid understanding of financials instruments i.e. IAS 32, IFRS 7/9, in particular must have significant practical experience of hedge accounting within upstream E&P oil and gas commodity markets Experience of using a Treasury Management System is preferred e.g. Refinitiv, Integrity, Coupa Experience of SoX controls environment preferrable. Strong MS Office skills; Excel (mandatory), PowerPoint and Word Highly motivated, excellent communication skills and a confident decision maker Ability to meet demanding deadlines and adapt quickly to changing business needs Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to develop good working relationships (internal functions & external stakeholders) High level of personal integrity and professionalism Self-starter, ability to work effectively as an individual and within a teamInclusive recruitment is a vital part of our diversity, equity and inclusion strategy.
