Occupational Therapist
Are you passionate about making a positive and lasting difference for the people of Hull?
Are you looking for a new challenge as an Adult Social Care Occupational Therapist? Then join our evolving Occupational Therapy workforce. We are looking for experienced Occupational Therapists for grade 8 posts (part time can be considered). There is an available role within our 7 day Active Recovery service, and within our Locality teams which works on office hours.
We are looking for a HCPC registered Occupational Therapist, with a minimum of 12 months experience. We offer a preceptorship program to support with transition from other areas of practice or return to practice. We have many opportunities for professional development that will enable you to broaden your experience across Adult Social Care. We will provide support and opportunities to enhance and progress your leadership skills and your clinical expertise.
In Hull, Occupational Therapy is a vital function of Adult Social Care, ensuring that individuals can maintain their independence and live life to the fullest in their own homes. We have established a close working relationship with multi-disciplinary teams across adult social care, and health colleagues to enable us to provide a holistic joined up service.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be supported to take a trauma informed approach to working with people accessing adult social care. You will apply the principals of rights based inclusive practice. You will use solution focussed conversations, and agree goals with people as part of a proportionate assessment process. Where appropriate to contribute to, or lead on the statutory assessment and review of people's care and support needs under the Care Act 2014.
As a valued team member, you will be providing supervision and clinical oversight to Occupational Therapy Assistants, as well as carrying an independent case load. You will contribute to service development, policy and process for Occupational Therapy and ensure OT is embedded within the wider Social Care offer.
You will also have the opportunity to work with a varied case load including:
- Long term neurological conditions
- Life limiting illnesses
- Offenders within prison and in the community
- Homelessness
- Short term intervention with those recovering from illness/ injury
- Learning difficulties and autism
- Children transitioning into adulthood
- Carers
Sound interesting? We also offer a variety of opportunities to rotate between teams and work flexibly including full or part time hours, 7 or 5 day working and possible term time only working by negotiation. (7 day working includes weekends on a rota basis with alternative days off in the week)
Recognising the workforce demand these posts are enhanced with a market rate pay supplement in excess of the top of the substantive grade. An annual review will take place which could reduce, increase or remove the enhancement subject to market conditions.
