Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, with experience in supervising staff and developing care plans. This role requires excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents.

Duties

  • Assist residents with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of care are maintained.
  • Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition.
  • Foster a positive environment by encouraging social interaction among residents and promoting activities that enhance their well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure a cohesive approach to care.
  • Drive residents to appointments or activities as necessary, ensuring their safety during transportation.
  • Utilise IT systems for record keeping and reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is essential.
  • Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership qualities.
  • Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with residents and their families compassionately.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents when required.
  • Proficiency in IT systems related to care management is beneficial.
