Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Night Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a compassionate approach to senior care. This role involves supervising care staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality personalised care, and maintaining effective communication with residents, families, and healthcare professionals. The Senior Care Assistant will play a vital part in fostering a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for our residents.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support junior care staff to ensure the delivery of compassionate and professional care in accordance with care plans.
  • Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility and, medication management.
  • Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns promptly to the relevant medical team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and adhere to all legal and organisational policies.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, relatives, and team members through effective communication and empathetic support.
  • Lead by example in promoting best practices in senior care whilst ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Support the training and mentoring of new or less experienced staff members to uphold high standards of care.

Skills

  • Proven experience in senior or elderly care within a care home setting, with supervising or leadership experience highly desirable.
  • NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
  • Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Competent in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes, ideally the PASS system.
  • Knowledge of current legislation relating to adult social care and safeguarding procedures.
  • Organised with excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents while working within a supportive team environment dedicated to excellence in senior care.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £12.70-£13.80 per hour
