Ready to bring your product design expertise to a leading digital experience company?
Pixel is seeking a talented, product-focused UI/UX Designer to join our growing team in Edinburgh. This is a strategic role responsible for architecting and building the official Pixel Design Language and crafting the interface of our next-generation SaaS products and core internal systems. You will work directly with the leadership team to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) features into the user experience.
About Pixel
Pixel is a well-established, yet dynamic, software and content creation company headquartered in Scotland. With 26 years of operation, we are recognised leaders in creating high-quality architectural digital experiences and immersive visual content for a diverse global client base.
We offer the stability and reputation of a long-standing market leader combined with the agility and influence of a growing SME. We are looking for a forward-thinking designer who thrives in this unique environment, values autonomy, and is passionate about solving complex system challenges through elegant, user-centric design.
Key Responsibilities
As our UI/UX Designer, you will be a champion of design excellence and usability across our product suite:
- Product Vision & Execution: Lead the end-to-end UI/UX design process for our client-facing SaaS solutions and internal systems. You will partner with Product Managers to translate low-fidelity strategy into design-ready, high-fidelity interfaces across all platforms (mobile/desktop).
- Design System Ownership & Governance: Architect, audit, and maintain the Pixel Design Language and its scalable component library in Figma, ensuring long-term visual consistency and efficiency across all products.
- User Research & Optimisation: Conduct user research, create detailed flows, wireframes, and prototypes to champion user-centred design principles, continuously optimising complex system interactions based on testing, data, and feedback loops.
- AI Integration & Innovation: Be at the forefront of integrating AI and machine learning concepts into new customer-facing products, actively enhancing the user experience and utilising AI tools to optimise your own design workflows.
- Collaboration & Quality Assurance (QA): Serve as the central design point, articulating rationale to stakeholders and working collaboratively with the Product Manager and Development teams. This includes performing meticulous design QA to ensure implemented features meet precise design specifications before sign-off.
Candidate Profile
Required Skills & Experience
- Exceptional Visual Design Foundation: Proven experience in UI/UX design with a strong portfolio that showcases mastery of typography, information hierarchy, and layout, specifically applied to the design of data-heavy dashboards and complex SaaS applications.

- Collaborative: A supportive team player with excellent problem-solving abilities and a constructive approach to critique.
- Adaptable: Capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of initiative.
- Communicative: Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills to articulate design decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Passionate: Enthusiastic about creating innovative products and delivering excellent user experiences.
