An Outstanding Mixed school in Haringey is seeking an innovative and engaging Computing Teacher for a permanent, full-time position commencing in September. The successful Computing Teacher will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 to develop strong computational thinking and digital literacy skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver stimulating Computing Teacher lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, covering programming, data science, and digital technologies.
- Prepare students effectively for GCSE Computer Science examinations and practical assessments.
- Foster a creative and problem-solving environment where students can explore the world of computer science.
- Assess and monitor student progress in computing, providing constructive and informative feedback as a Computing Teacher.
- Contribute to the development of the computing curriculum and the integration of technology across the school.
- Encourage student participation in extracurricular computing clubs and coding competitions.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Computer Science or Computing.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching Computing at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4).
- A strong and comprehensive understanding of programming languages, algorithms, and computer systems.
- Excellent communication and instructional skills, capable of making complex concepts accessible as a Computing Teacher.
- Ability to motivate students to develop their computational thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- A commitment to collaborative work and a supportive ethos within the technology department.
