Main responsibilities

  • Ensure that health and safety standards are understood and delivered by all staff.
  • Coach the employees at each of our sites to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of the delivery of the day-to-day service and in particular, play an active part in the assessment of the sites to maintain a safe operating environment for all staff
  • Assisting & supporting the Area Manager to ensure all schools within your portfolio are on budget
  • Promoting and maintaining Dolce standards within each site and ensure that each site complies with all relevant legislation and regulations
  • Ensure that all required training is up to date
  • Support the cooks at each site to maintain all relevant records which are required for the running of the kitchen, e.g ordering and stock taking, food temperature taking and recording, checking accuracy of time-sheets and cleaning schedules and to identify and deliver training in any of these required areas

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Previous catering knowledge and experience, including stock management.
  • You must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Extensive craft skills
  • Experience in training and developing staff
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and be able to lead and motivate staff
  • IT literate
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Supporting the Area Manager in any HR related matters, including absence management, disciplinaries & recruitment

You must have relevant qualifications in Food Safety and Hygiene standards and Health & Safety (IOSH and COSHH) as well as GCSE Maths and English.

A full driving license and own car is essential. Business mileage will be reimbursed.

The role is offered on a permanent basis up to 25 hours per week, Monday- Friday during term-time, and is subject to the applicant's eligibility to work in the UK and a successful DBS clearance (cost covered by Dolce).
