Engineering and Design Consultancy
known for its deep technical expertise and track record of delivering bespoke solutions within specialised marine, offshore, and naval sectors. This client is committed to engineering excellence, innovation, and maintaining a diverse, supportive working environment where technical professionals can thrive and influence complex, global projects.

This senior position involves providing specialised structural design, analysis, and assurance across a wide range of sophisticated marine and offshore assets. The successful candidate will play a critical role in project delivery, ensuring structural integrity and compliance from concept through to detailed design stages.

Key Responsibilities
Structural Design Leadership:
Lead and execute structural design and analysis tasks for marine vessels, floating offshore structures, and specialized equipment.

FE Analysis:
Develop and validate complex Finite Element (FE) models to assess structural strength, fatigue life, and dynamic responses under various loading conditions.

Compliance & Assurance:
Ensure all structural designs strictly adhere to relevant Classification Society rules, international codes (e.g., IMO), and industry best practices.

Technical Reporting:
Produce clear, concise, and professional technical reports and documentation suitable for client submission and regulatory approval.

Collaboration:
Interface effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, and third-party approval bodies.

Innovation & Problem Solving:
Apply creative engineering solutions to complex structural challenges and support the development of in-house technical tools and standards.

Essential Qualifications And Experience

  • A degree (or equivalent professional qualification) in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or Structural Engineering.
  • Significant, demonstrable professional experience focused on structural design, analysis, and verification of marine or offshore structures.
  • Expert proficiency in structural analysis methods, including advanced competence in commercial FEA software (e.g., FEMAP, ABAQUS, or similar).
  • Thorough working knowledge of industry codes (e.g., DNV, LR, ABS, API).
  • Strong presentation and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex structural concepts clearly.
