About the Role

We are seeking an experienced
Fire & Security Service Engineer
to join a growing team supporting commercial, industrial, and public-sector clients across Edinburgh. This role involves servicing, maintaining, fault-finding, and minor works across a range of fire and electronic security systems.

You will be representing a well-established business with a strong reputation for quality, professionalism, and engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out
    routine servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding
    on fire alarm systems, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems.
  • Deliver
    planned preventive maintenance (PPM)
    and respond to corrective/reactive maintenance calls.
  • Diagnose technical issues and complete repairs efficiently.
  • Ensure all work meets
    BS5839
    ,
    BS5266
    , and other relevant industry standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Complete accurate reports, documentation, and job sheets electronically.
  • Participate in a shared
    on-call rota
    (with attractive standby rates).
  • Identify opportunities for system upgrades or improvements and pass leads to the projects/sales team when appropriate.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience servicing
    fire and security systems
    .
  • Technical knowledge of systems such as:
  • Fire:
    Morley, Gent, Advanced, Kentec
  • Intruder:
    Texecom, Galaxy
  • CCTV:
    Hikvision, Avigilon, Dahua
  • Access Control:
    Paxton, TDSi
  • Good understanding of relevant British Standards.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate professionally with clients.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • FIA training (Units 1–5)
  • Experience with networked and IP CCTV systems
  • Familiarity with cause-and-effect testing and commissioning
  • ECS/CSCS card
  • Any manufacturer accreditations
