This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to shape the knowledge and performance of a dedicated client services crew, ensuring they are fully equipped to deliver seamless, high-quality experiences across multiple channels. As Training Manager, you will lead a small but passionate team of training specialists, working closely with business leaders and subject matter experts to design and implement impactful training programmes that support both immediate business needs and long-term capability development. Vanguard is renowned for its supportive culture, commitment to professional growth, and focus on delivering value to clients. With competitive compensation and the chance to influence the future of client service excellence, this is an outstanding opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about nurturing talent.

What you'll do:
* Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Client Services Trainers by providing regular feedback, guidance, and support to ensure consistently high-quality delivery of all training programmes.

* Act as a role model for your team by setting clear performance standards, conducting evaluations, and supporting professional growth through coaching and mentoring.

* Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to design and implement a comprehensive long-term training strategy that aligns with business objectives and evolving client needs.

* Oversee the planning, scheduling, and delivery of onboarding programmes, ongoing skill development sessions, regulatory training, and role-specific learning initiatives for all crew members.

* Design and deliver engaging training content as required to address immediate business needs or close identified skills gaps within the client services function.

* Partner with business leaders, subject matter experts, and other key stakeholders to identify training requirements, define learning outcomes, and establish success measures for all initiatives.

* Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes using feedback mechanisms and performance data; adjust content or delivery methods as necessary to maximise impact.

* Ensure robust control and governance over all training materials to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements as well as internal policies and frameworks.

* Maintain an up-to-date Training and Competence Framework for Client Services that supports both short-term operational needs and long-term capability development.

* Assess and prioritise training needs in partnership with department leaders to ensure resources are allocated effectively while balancing immediate demands with strategic goals.

What you bring:
* A minimum of five years' experience in a training or learning and development role within financial services contact centre or operational environments is essential for this position.

* Comprehensive understanding of financial services operations as well as familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks is required; investment product knowledge would be advantageous.

* Professional qualifications in training design are expected along with proven experience designing impactful learning solutions that drive measurable improvements in performance.

* Demonstrated leadership skills including experience coaching teams, supporting individual growth journeys, hiring new talent, evaluating performance fairly, and fostering an inclusive atmosphere.

* Exceptional communication skills-both written and verbal-are vital for facilitating sessions effectively as well as managing relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.

* Strong organisational abilities are needed to manage multiple concurrent projects while prioritising tasks according to shifting business needs without compromising quality or compliance.

* Experience partnering with senior leaders or subject matter experts to identify learning requirements, define outcomes clearly, measure success rigorously, and adapt strategies responsively is highly valued.

* A track record of maintaining robust governance over training materials-including ensuring alignment with internal policies as well as external regulations-is important for this role.

* Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education/training/experience is required; additional qualifications within financial services or learning & development are desirable but not mandatory.
