Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide high-quality support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, including familiarity with Alzheimer's and dementia care, and will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients. This role requires a blend of practical caregiving skills and emotional support, ensuring that each individual receives personalised attention tailored to their specific needs.

Duties

  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health or behaviour.
  • Maintain accurate care plans and documentation of client progress and needs.
  • Support clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to ensure a safe environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care and address any medical concerns.
  • Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
  • Ensure a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in caregiving, particularly in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic first aid is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and patient care practices is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
  • A valid driving licence may be required for transportation duties.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed while assisting clients.
  • A caring attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality support to individuals in need.
