We're on the lookout for a hands-on, passionate and highly organised Head Chef / Kitchen Manager to lead the kitchen at our eclectic boutique hotel in Penzance. This is a role for someone who loves great food, thrives in a friendly, buzzing environment, and can bring consistency, quality and warmth to every plate.

The Role

This is a dynamic, all-season position:

  • Lead solo during quieter months, confidently running a one-person kitchen.
  • Manage and motivate a team of up to 5 chefs during the busy summer season.
  • Work mostly Thursday to Monday, including split shifts, so you'll need to be local or within an easy commute.
  • Oversee all services, with a particular focus on dinner, weekend brunch and lunch — and making sure breakfast is spot on too.
  • Cook from an open kitchen, setting the tone with professionalism, energy and approachability.
  • Use our garden smokers to craft flavourful, quality dishes.
  • Lead our summer garden feasts and event nights - from BBQs to paella parties and long-table gatherings.

  • Excited to work closely with the owners to create consistent dishes guests return for again and again.
  • Proud to present food from an open kitchen and engage warmly with guests when needed.
