Hours: Full-time, 40 hours pw

Work Pattern: Monday – Friday 9:00am – 17:00pm, must be flexible to work occasional weekends and overtime.

*As September is our busiest period, you must be available to work 6 days a week from 9.00am – 17.00pm, including the weekends (psst.. extra funds to go towards your Christmas shopping) *

JOB ROLE:

We're looking for a Caretaker who is multi-skilled to carry out general repairs, building repairs, and maintenance within the centre. You will also be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance regimes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reporting on maintenance issues as required - Including reactive and proactive maintenance
  • Assisting the Maintenance Assistant - with repairs to student's rooms, communal areas, and company equipment when required.
  • Minor repairs to furniture and internal fixtures and fittings including lights and bulbs.
  • Assist the centre manager in busy periods with deliveries and goods
  • Collect and disposes of refuge from buildings and grounds
  • Carry out outside work such as cleaning walkways, yard areas, jet spraying, weeding, planting and moving equipment
  • Minor plumbing issues i.e. unblocking drains
  • Painting of communal areas and bedrooms when required
  • Communal space and reception window cleaning
  • Upkeep of bin area and car park
  • Assisting with maintenance tasks in the absence of the maintenance assistant
  • Any other reasonable request asked of you by your manager

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Previous experience within a similar role
  • Experience of working in an accommodation environment such as a hotel is desirable – not essential
  • Impeccable presentation
  • An outstanding can-do attitude and the desire to work as a member of a structured team
  • A willingness to learn and develop practical skills
  • All candidates must provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK to be considered
