Overview

We're looking for a skilled Fire & Security Engineer to join our team. If you're experienced in both fire alarm and electronic security systems and want to be part of a company that values quality, professionalism, and career progression - we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

You'll be responsible for servicing and fault-finding across a variety of systems, with the opportunity to support installations and commissioning. This is a client-facing role where your professionalism and technical expertise will help us deliver safe, compliant, and reliable fire & security solutions.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in servicing a wide range of access control, CCTV, and intruder alarm systems.
  • Practical experience in fire alarm servicing, with knowledge of GENT systems being an advantage.
  • Strong technical IT skills, including installing Windows operating systems and networking.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring paperwork is accurate and company procedures are consistently followed within required timescales.
  • A motivated and enthusiastic team player, able to perform well under pressure while maintaining a professional and customer-focused attitude.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • IPAF & PASMA certifications are desirable.

· An FIA training card would be an advantage, but we'll support you with training if needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing and planned preventative maintenance on fire and security systems, including fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control.
  • Diagnose and fault-find system issues, ensuring timely resolution to maintain system integrity and client satisfaction.
  • Undertake small-scale installations and commissioning works where required.
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records, completing all required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with BS 5839, BS 5266, PD 6662, and NSI standards.
  • Work safely and effectively, adhering to company health and safety policies, RAMS, and site-specific requirements.
  • Provide technical support and guidance as required.
  • Represent VF&S in a professional manner, maintaining excellent client relationships.
