Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks, adhering to quality standards.
  • Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, or baked goods as required.
  • Serve customers efficiently at the counter or table, ensuring a friendly and professional demeanour.
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and equipment in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Manage cash register operations accurately, including handling payments and giving correct change.
  • Restock supplies and organise stock to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Follow health and safety procedures diligently to uphold food safety standards.
  • Support team members during busy periods by assisting with various tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a barista or in food serving is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations is preferred.
  • Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
  • Strong organisational skills with good time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly attitude towards customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work shifts that may include mornings, afternoons, as required by the café schedule. This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking experience in the hospitality industry while contributing to a welcoming customer environment.
