The Role
We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Cloud Platform team. This team is responsible for governing and managing our company's AWS footprint as well as operating critical systems such as SCM, CI/CD and other self-hosted solutions that enable our teams to be more productive. In addition, the team is the driving force behind the company's containerization strategy which spans from OnPrem, Hybrid all the way to AWS. We operate and build the foundation that enable our teams to build critical, low-latency trading applications which move billions of dollars each day. In essence, our focus is on building a secure, reliable, and global platform which follows SRE patterns.

How You'll Help Take Us There

  • Develop and scale engineering best practices across the organization through automation, auditability, automated testing, infrastructure and policy as code
  • Deliver the tooling and capabilities needed to enable application engineers to develop software according to our cloud first strategy
  • Integrate and operate observability products that support compliance requirements and enable engineers to better understand the state of their services and apps in production
  • Provide automated & developer-friendly cloud onboarding, account vending and management
  • Ensure least privileged access to our cloud platforms to enable a zero-trust environment
  • Partner and collaborate with IT Infrastructure, Networking, Security, Application, and Data Engineering teams
  • Utilize Enterprise Architecture and Solutions Architecture patterns to develop a robust & scalable Cloud and DevOps platform which creates low friction for adoption and continuous improvement
  • Focus on improving the user experience towards or cloud team and iteratively working towards higher degrees of usability and automation

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of software development experience, with 2 years in Cloud and/or DevOps roles
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, deploying, and automating infrastructure & platform services in Public Clouds (AWS preferred, GCP, and Azure) using Infrastructure as Code
  • Familiarity with GitOps, Automation and DevSecOps Pipeline tools like Ansible, Maven, Gradle, Terraform, and CloudFormation
  • Comprehensive understanding of CI/CD and experience with building and deploying pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and GitHub Actions
  • Real world experience with distributed systems, especially containers and Kubernetes; ideally experience with both cloud and/or on-premises Kubernetes deployments
  • Exposure to managing a multi-account AWS Organization and leveraging SSO, IAM, networking (VPC) and policy based RBAC
  • Strong knowledge in at least one language: Java, C#, Python, JavaScript
  • Advanced level of Linux OS understanding and scripting skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience with service-oriented architecture and event streaming (e.g., Confluent / Kafka) and caching platforms (e.g., Redis)
  • Understanding of Agile software development practices and operational excellence
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
  • Experience with self-hosting and/or managing systems like Bitbucket, Github, Gitlab, HashiCorp Vault, DataDog, Sonarqube

For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is £80,000 GBP to £110,000 GBP. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. You may also be eligible for annual cash incentives, equity, and other benefit programs.
