Your role 

As a motivated and enthusiastic software engineer, you will work on a broad variety of projects. For some projects, the software will be the entire project; for others, it will be one component of a broader ecosystem involving software and hardware developed at Cambridge Consultants or by our clients. We are looking for versatile individuals who can adapt to challenges as they come in.  

You'll share your days with talented teams of software engineers, UX and service designers, mathematicians, test engineers and DevOps specialists. Your focus will be effective, creative delivery for ambitious, world-renowned clients wanting to make a real difference to real lives. Often you'll be developing systems that haven't been seen before and where the specification can at first be unclear. Working with our team you'll be able to cut through the ambiguity and deliver solutions for our clients.  

What you'll be doing  
  • Assist in the development, testing, and deployment of cloud-based applications.  
  • Collaborate with team members to design and implement software solutions.  
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality.  
  • Stay updated with the latest technology trends and integrate new tools and techniques into projects.  
  • Support troubleshooting and debugging efforts to ensure optimal performance of applications.

What you can bring  

We're looking for applicants who:  

  • Are currently pursuing a relevant degree, such as computer science or software engineering, with good academic results.  
  • Are eligible to undertake a 12-month industrial placements as part of their course. 
  • Have a basic understanding of software development principles and cloud technologies. 
  • Have a strong interest in the latest technology trends and eagerness to learn. 
  • Have good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with peers and clients to understand their challenges and present thoughtful solutions. 

Please ensure your CV includes your A Level (or equivalent) subjects and grades, as well as any relevant university modules.
