Job Overview
We are seeking a Part-Time Support Worker to provide dedicated one-to-one support, helping an individual participate in a range of day activities within the community. The ideal candidate will be caring, patient, and committed to offering person-centred support that promotes independence, engagement, and overall wellbeing.
A driver is required for this role, as transportation to day programs and activities is essential.
Duties
- Provide one-to-one support during daily routines and community outings.
- Transport the individual to scheduled day activities, programs, appointments, and recreational outings.
- Assist with meal preparation and support dietary needs.
- Help maintain a clean and safe living environment, including light housekeeping tasks.
- Offer companionship, engage in meaningful interactions, and support emotional wellbeing.
- Follow individualized care plans and accurately document activities and progress.
- Assist with mobility or safe transfers if needed.
- Communicate and collaborate with family members and/or healthcare professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
Skills & Qualifications
- Valid driver's licence (required) — ability to drive is essential.
- First Aid and CPR certification (required).
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is an asset.
- Strong caregiving skills, including meal preparation, monitoring, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Background in caregiving, social work, nursing, or related fields is beneficial but not required.
- Patience, reliability, and a genuine commitment to supporting another person's quality of life.
