Duties

  • Manage the daily operations of the transport department, ensuring efficient delivery of goods.
  • Develop and implement transport strategies to improve service quality and reduce costs.
  • Oversee the scheduling of drivers and vehicles, ensuring optimal utilisation of resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of transport activities, including vehicle maintenance and driver performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Provide training and support to staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Utilise Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, to prepare reports and communicate effectively.

Experience

  • Proven experience in a management role within the transport or logistics sector.
  • TM CPC Holder
  • Proficient in IT systems relevant to transport management; computer literacy is essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong leadership qualities with a focus on team development.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
