Greenwell Gleeson are working exclusively with a PE backed European Group. It is currently undergoing rapid expansion through a buy and build strategy and in order to fulfil the medium term objective of positioning itself for an exit they have created a new position of Group Working Capital Controller.

The key aspects of the role will be to lead cash management initiatives and take ownership across our portfolio of locations. The role will be critical to driving liquidity efficiency, improving cash conversion, and supporting operational teams in managing working capital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cash Management & Forecasting
  • Lead the development and execution of cash management strategies across all locations.
  • Own the 13-week cashflow forecasting process and ensure accuracy and timeliness of submissions.
  • Monitor daily liquidity and ensure optimal cash positioning.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partner with local finance teams, controllers, and GMs to identify and implement cash improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate cash performance and risks clearly to senior leadership.
  • Support decision-making with insightful analysis and scenario planning.
  • Inventory Optimization
  • Partner with finance and operations teams to identify opportunities to reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Align inventory reduction strategies with cash flow goals and seasonal business cycles.
  • Process & Systems
  • Drive standardization and automation of treasury processes.
  • Leverage systems and tools to enhance visibility and control over cash movements.
  • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to build dashboards and reporting frameworks.
  • Working Capital & Supplier Management
  • Analyze receivables and payables to identify opportunities for headroom and past due reduction.
  • Support supplier negotiations and payment planning to optimize working capital.
  • Support business in inventory management
  • Strategic Thinking
  • Think creatively to solve liquidity challenges and improve cash conversion cycles.
  • Anticipate seasonal trends and proactively manage cash burn by location.

To be considered for the role you will need to demonstrate proven experience in treasury and cash management, ideally in a PE environment. Additionally, you will need a strong understanding of liquidity planning, cash forecasting and working capital management.
