Overview

Trinity House group are partnering exclusively with a fast-growing services provider undergoing a significant period of operational and financial scale-up. The business is looking to appoint a hands-on Financial Controller who can bring rigour to the month-end process, strengthen financial governance, and provide meaningful insight to leadership as the business continues to expand.

This role is ideal for someone who is a strong all-round accountant, highly comfortable diving into the detail, but equally capable of stepping back to drive improvements, shape controls, and support commercial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Control

  • Own the month-end close process, ensuring timely, accurate and well-controlled financial results
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, balance sheet and working capital movements
  • Lead preparation of management accounts, board reporting packs and variance analysis
  • Oversee statutory accounting and audit requirements

Financial Governance & Process Improvement

  • Develop and embed robust financial controls, policies and procedures
  • Proactively identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements
  • Strengthen reporting frameworks to support scalability and investor confidence

Business Partnering & Insight

  • Work closely with operational teams to improve financial understanding across the business
  • Provide meaningful analysis on performance, trends and cost drivers
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning
  • Prepare insight-led financial reporting that informs decision making

Leadership & Team Development

  • Support and develop junior finance team members
  • Create a culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement within finance

About You

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in an SME / scaling environment with a hands-on approach
  • Strong technical grounding with the ability to work end-to-end across the finance function
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where getting into the detail is essential
  • Process-minded with a track record of tightening controls and improving reporting
  • Naturally curious, commercially aware and proactive in driving better outcomes for the business

What This Role Offers
