About the Role

We are looking for a
Senior SAS Data Analyst
to lead the assessment of existing SAS environments and support the migration of analytical workloads to
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
. The role involves analyzing SAS jobs, data flows, and dependencies to design efficient, cloud-native solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess current SAS landscape – jobs, macros, stored processes, and data flows.
  • Perform
    data lineage and dependency mapping
    across systems.
  • Document business logic, transformation rules, and process flows.
  • Identify optimization opportunities before migration.
  • Partner with architects to design target-state solutions on
    GCP
    (BigQuery, DataProc, GCS, Airflow).
  • Support SAS-to-GCP migration planning and risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and business users for validation and reconciliation.
  • Mentor junior analysts on SAS and data analysis best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience as a
    Data Analyst/Programmer
    with strong SAS skills (Base SAS, Macros, SAS SQL).
  • Proven experience in
    data lineage, impact analysis, and SAS documentation
    .
  • Strong SQL skills with RDBMS (Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server).
  • Prior exposure to
    migration or modernization projects
    .
  • Familiarity with
    GCP services
    (BigQuery, DataProc, GCS, Airflow).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in
    banking or financial services
    is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to
    BigQuery SQL
    or
    SAS-to-GCP translation
    .
  • Experience with
    Python or PySpark
    for cloud analytics.
  • Knowledge of
    risk management or regulatory data flows
    .

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
