An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Dietitian to join Hywel Dda's Paediatric Diabetes Team in its mission to improve and empower children and young people living with diabetes. This permanent, part time position hours/week) would suit a highly motivated Dietitian with knowledge and experience of diabetes and/or paediatric dietetics.

In addition to core responsibilities, there will be opportunities to contribute to wider service development, specialist projects, and collaborative initiatives across the Health Board. This means you will not only gain experience in paediatric diabetes but also broaden your skills by engaging with other dietetic services and multidisciplinary teams.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the provision of structured education across the health board sites and hold a clinical case load of children and young people with diabetes.
The post holder will work as a specialist children's diabetes dietitian and an integral member of the Children's Diabetes Service, managing a complex caseload of children and young people and supporting others to work effectively with children, young people and their families with diabetes.
They will use specialist dietetic knowledge and skills: assessing, planning, implementing treatment and delivering dietetic interventions in a variety of settings including community, outpatient, and hospital and group settings in line with the needs of the patient, their family and carers.
Provide education, training and expert support to develop the knowledge and skills of others' working with children, young people and families in relation to the effective dietary management of diabetes.
Contribute to the work of dietetic and children's diabetes services, actively participating in development, evaluation and improvement work, and the implementation of policy, guidance and standards.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
- 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
- Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
