Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Early Years Educator / Deputy Manager to join our vibrant educational team. This role involves leading classroom activities, developing curriculum, and supporting the overall management of the early childhood program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, experience working with children, and a passion for fostering a nurturing and stimulating learning environment. This position offers an opportunity to influence young learners' development while contributing to the effective operation of our childcare facility or preschool setting.
Montessori qualified practitioners will receive an extra bonus annually depending on their practice in he setting.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate curricula that promote childhood development across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains.
- Lead classroom activities with a focus on literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods where applicable.
- Manage classroom behaviour through positive behaviour management strategies to create a safe and supportive environment.
- Plan and execute lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs, including special education and early intervention programs.
- Oversee daily classroom operations, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support staff in classroom management and professional development initiatives.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children's progress and address individual needs effectively.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff or interns, fostering a team-oriented atmosphere focused on quality childcare.
- Ensure compliance with childcare regulations, including standardized testing procedures and child welfare policies.
- Contribute to curriculum development that integrates literacy education, STEM activities like math, and physical education components.
- Maintain detailed documentation related to child progress, assessments, and lesson planning.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in early childhood education or preschool settings; prior classroom experience is requested.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, behaviour management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Experience with special education needs, early intervention programs, and literacy education preferred.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or other specialised educational approaches is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with children, parents, staff, and external agencies.
- Ability to develop curriculum plans that incorporate standardised testing where applicable and support diverse learning styles.
- Demonstrated ability in lesson planning, teaching physical education, tutoring, or teaching students across different age groups including toddlers and preschoolers.
- Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or childcare; certifications in child welfare or daycare management are desirable. This role is ideal for passionate educators committed to nurturing young minds while contributing to the leadership of an innovative early years program.
- Good understanding of the Montessori ethos and practice is required.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
