The role
As our Employee Relations Advisor, you'll play a vital role in shaping a supportive and fair working environment. This is an opportunity to join us on a 6 month fixed term basis.
In this role, you'll work closely with managers and People Business Partners to develop and deliver people practices that foster strong, respectful relationships across the business. You'll be the go-to expert for navigating sensitive employee matters, offering clear, confident advice that aligns with ANS policies and employment law.
What will I be doing?
- Act as a subject matter expert on employment matters including delivering high quality support, advice and guidance on employment relations and procedures including, but not limited to, sickness absence, AWOL, disciplinary, grievance, capability/performance management and probation.
- Manage employee relation cases through to resolution, escalating more complex cases if necessary.
- Support appeal processes.
- Maintain quality documentation relating to employee relations including regular up to date case notes.
- Support the delivery of training to managers on employment relations.
- Use data provided to review and manage trigger points of any policy related activity and proactively resolve highlighted issues.
- Support the review, development, implementation and roll out of ANS policies.
- Collaborate with People Business Partners to develop strategies to respond to concerns and embed employee relations into broader company practices.
- Work with People Business Partners to identify and address potential employee relations issues, spot trends and develop preventive measures.
- Ensure ANS is compliant with employment legislation and implementing best practice.
- Keep up to date with changes in employee legislation.
What will I bring to the role?
- Demonstrated experience in an employee relations role.
- Proven experience advising and supporting employees and managers at all levels on a wide range of ER issues.
- Excellent employment law knowledge and understanding.
- CIPD Level 5 or above is desirable
- Calm, resilient and pragmatic in handling sensitive and difficult conversations.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Able to balance empathy and logic when supporting managers and employees.
