Scheme Support Officer

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Scheme Support Officer to join our Supported Accommodation team in Newport on a Full-time (37 hrs), permanent basis.

Salary for this role is £24,531.00 FTE + £62.64 sleep-in allowance

This service operates on a 24 hour basis which includes Days, evenings, Sleep-ins & weekend availability

You will be working with a diverse group of people aged 18+ from varying backgrounds, who are experiencing trauma and have complex needs. Your day will consist of:

• Engaging and interacting with the people we support
• Delivering workshops relating to diversionary activities around individuals who have co-occurring needs and health and wellbeing
• Ensuring the building is secure including health & safety checks and maintaining an awareness of who is in the building
• Dealing with challenging behaviours in a challenging and demanding environment
• Addressing any additional needs, the people we support might have

Our aim is to ensure we equip these individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol use, mental health, substance use and anti-social and offending behaviour. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental.

Part of your role will also include sleep-in shifts at the scheme, where you will be provided with a secluded area that includes a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen facilities.
