Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Scaffold Builder to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and dismantling scaffolding structures on various sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, contributing to the safe and efficient execution of construction activities.
Duties
- Erect, modify, and dismantle scaffolding structures in accordance with engineering plans and safety regulations
- Inspect scaffolding components regularly to ensure stability and safety throughout the project
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpenters, roofers, electricians, and masons to facilitate smooth workflow
- Use hand tools and power tools to assemble scaffolding frames, planks, and guardrails
- Fabricate custom scaffold components as needed for specialised structures
- Ensure work areas are kept tidy and free of hazards to maintain a safe environment
- Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines during all phases of scaffold installation and removal
Qualifications
- Proven experience in scaffolding construction or related roles within the construction industry
- Knowledge of carpentry, roofing, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, or construction painting is advantageous
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in scaffold building and fabrication
- Ability to read technical drawings and engineering plans accurately
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to scaffolding work
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks including lifting, climbing, and working at heights safely
- Relevant certifications such as CISRS (Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme) are highly desirable but not essential for all roles; training can be provided for suitable candidates
