Role Description
We are seeking a skilled
React & React Native Developer
to join our Digital Channels team. The role involves building scalable, secure, and accessible web and mobile applications using React, React Native, and TypeScript, while ensuring high code quality, maintainability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web and mobile applications using React and React Native.
- Implement and optimise component lifecycle methods and React hooks.
- Manage application state using Context API, Redux, Zustand, or similar.
- Apply React design patterns to deliver clean, reusable, and scalable code.
- Integrate TypeScript for type safety and enhanced developer experience.
- Enforce code quality using linting tools (ESLint, Prettier) and coding standards.
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (Jest, React Testing Library, Detox, Cypress).
- Follow security best practices and implement accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Monitor performance and resolve issues using profiling and optimisation techniques.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies.
- Collaborate on publishing and maintaining shared React libraries and components.
- Keep up to date with the latest React and React Native versions, including major upgrades.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong proficiency in React and React Native development.
- Deep understanding of React component lifecycle and hooks.
- Solid experience with TypeScript in React projects.
- Familiarity with state management libraries and patterns.
- Knowledge of React design patterns (container/presentational, HOCs, render props).
- Experience with linting tools and enforcing code quality.
- Proven experience with JavaScript testing frameworks.
- Awareness of security and accessibility best practices.
- Performance profiling and optimisation experience in React apps.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and workflows.
- Experience maintaining and publishing shared libraries (npm packages, monorepos).
- Experience upgrading React and React Native applications across versions.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in Agile development teams.
- Developing and deploying iOS and Android apps using native or cross-platform frameworks (Flutter, Xamarin).
- Understanding mobile-specific challenges in cross-platform development.
- Contributions to open-source projects or technical blogs.
