What you'll be doing

Join Future's Subscriptions Team as a Senior Developer, working closely with our Technology & Engineering department to deliver scalable, efficient, and well-structured web applications.

Reporting to the Senior Tech Lead, you'll take ownership of new and existing projects — from architecting and building greenfield solutions using the latest tools and practices, to enhancing and maintaining current systems. You'll collaborate across teams to plan, scope, and deliver new services and features that drive our subscriptions platform forward.

  • Design, develop, and optimise applications and components for our subscriptions platform.
  • Lead on architecture decisions, code quality, and system scalability.
  • Refactor existing code, write automated tests (unit, integration, E2E), and ensure reliable deployments.
  • Collaborate with Tech Leads to define scope, monitor performance, and meet KPIs.
  • Support and mentor junior developers through code reviews and technical guidance.
  • Contribute to hack days and guilds, sharing best practices and exploring new technologies.
Experience that will put you ahead of the curve
  • Experience with PHP and MVC practices
  • Experienced with modern JS / TypeScript
  • Experience building performant components in modern JS frameworks.
  • Committed to development consistency and coding standards.
  • Solid understanding of Git workflows.
  • Experienced in working with data from APIs and databases.
  • Quick to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with containerised development (e.g. Docker).
  • Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical teams.
