Musical Theatre teacher

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, and passionate Musical Theatre Teacher to join our team, working with our senior students aged 13+. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment and is excited about nurturing young talent in all aspects of the performing arts.
About the Role
Our senior musical theatre programme takes an integrated approach, blending singing, acting, and dance into a cohesive training experience. We're seeking someone who can lead inspiring, structured, and high-energy classes, while also helping students grow in confidence and skill.
In addition to developing our students' core performance abilities, we place strong emphasis on industry preparation – including audition technique, professional etiquette, and understanding pathways into further training or the performance industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured musical theatre lessons for students aged 13+
- Choreograph musical numbers, direct scenes, and act as a musical director where needed, including arranging harmonies and guiding vocal work
- Foster a fun, supportive, and professional learning environment
- Integrate singing, acting and dance within lessons and performance projects
- Prepare students for performances, showcases, and potential audition opportunities
- Offer insights into the industry and support students' aspirations in the performing arts
- Be punctual, reliable, and highly organised in lesson planning and rehearsal management
About You:
- Proven experience teaching teenagers aged 13+ in a performing arts or musical theatre setting
- Confident and capable in choreography, directing, and musical direction
- Fun, bubbly personality with a professional and motivational teaching style
- Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills
- Ability to inspire and challenge students, helping them grow in confidence and performance skill
- Knowledge of the performing arts industry and audition process is highly desirable
- A commitment to inclusivity, creativity, and supporting each student's individual journey
Desirable Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Performing Arts, Musical Theatre or related discipline
- Experience in arranging vocal harmonies and leading ensemble singing
- Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £27.00-£30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 per week
