We're looking for compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to work within a variety of specialist SEN schools across Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, and Northumberland.

Your Role

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and complex learning needs
  • Help pupils access learning and develop confidence, communication, and independence
  • Support teachers in adapting and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons
  • Promote positive behaviour, well-being, and participation in school life
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and support teams to deliver individual learning plans
  • Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and inspiring learning environment

What We're Looking For

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (essential)
  • A Level 2 or higher Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND (essential)
  • Empathy, patience, and a proactive attitude
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and helping every child thrive

Additional training in Autism, SEMH, Makaton, or PECS would be advantageous.

You'll be working in a network of specialist SEN schools across Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, and Northumberland.
