Main Purpose of the Role
Cloud is a critical enabler of Unilever's digital future. It not only changes how we store and access data but,
will also fundamentally improve how our business operates. Cloud enables innovation and cost-effective
delivery at scale and pace by removing barriers and providing foundations for digital business
transformation.
The Cloud Platform Services (CPS) team, part of the UniOps function, has a vision to accelerate cloud
adoption and drive a future fit model for innovation and growth across Unilever.
As part of the Delivery Team, you will be working with the Product Delivery
& PE Manager as well as part of a wider expert team of global delivery specialists, working with Agile
methodologies and frameworks to deliver your projects.
As a Senior Scrum Master within CPS, you have full accountability for the successful delivery of your
assigned project(s). You will be responsible for and take ownership of all aspects of Project Management
as required and as per the deliverables asked for. You will ensure a continued focus on the commercial
impact of the delivery and results, constantly striving for high levels of satisfaction and success for your
customer, your delivery team and yourself.
Main Accountabilities
• Project Management - Expected to manage projects of medium to high complexity. Portrays
delivery excellence exceeding KPIs against delivery. Follows the defined PMO process and
operational standards. Manages projects or programmes of approximately 20 people.
• Leadership - Leads a team and engagement within CPS of up to 20 technical resources
• Managing Budgets - Creates and conforms to budgets and reports on them accordingly. Tracks
budgets for both cost and to defined KPIs.
• Stakeholder Management - Manages and builds strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
Can own and lead a group of projects or workstreams potentially directing other project managers.
Effectively manages escalations and conflict management.
• Process Governance - Strong operational awareness and involvement in the governance processes.
Regularly liaises with PMO to ensure projects are operating to an agreed way of working.
• Change Management - Manages change to schedule, scope, cost, contractual items, on assigned
projects. Follows defined process for changes to assigned projects.
• Risk & Issue Management - Effectively manages risks and issues at the project level.
• Critical Thinking - Exhibits strong problem solving and mitigation skills
• Delegating - Confident and effective at delegating and uses delegation to enhance the team's
productivity, deliver on goals and provide development opportunities.
• Operational Excellence - Excellent operational awareness and involvement in governance
processes. Regularly liaises with PMO to ensure projects are operating to an agreed way of working.
• Time Management - Ability to successfully manage and coordinate between various projects and
their interdependencies, as well as resource requirements.
• Coaching & Mentoring - Utilises coaching and mentoring techniques to aid development and drive
engagement within their Programme/Project
• Governance -Ensuring that projects and programmes are adhering to governance processes,
templates and income requirements
• Vendor Relationships - Maintains relationships with key vendors to ensure resolution of risks and
issues. Ensure delivery standards are implemented and maintained. Challenge vendors to
constantly improve and innovate to align with customer demands.
Key Skills and Relevant Experience
• 3+ years experience of project management.
• Ability to form strong relationships within Unilever and with key individuals in partner
organisations to deliver against objectives
• Demonstrated skills in working across multi-functional teams to bring increased business value
through seeing the bigger picture, collaboration and alignment of diverse needs.
• Strong people management skills. Able to balance needs and asks for the team with business
delivery requirements.
• Ability to operate independently to drive the business forward. Does not wait to be told/shown
what needs to be done. Continue to drive things through to completion.
• Experience with one/more public/private cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
• Must possess good numerical and analytical skills.
• Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to think critically (out of the box) and also be able to pay complete attention to
details
• Must be self-motivated, goal-oriented, and be able to display excellent customer service skills
• Must have knowledge of working business standards that are relevant to the industry in which
the organization operates
• Has successfully delivered cloud project initiatives (more than 4) and has desirably delivered to
multiple cloud service providers or in private cloud.
• Must understand project and program Agile methodology.
• Must understand project commercials.
Minimum qualifications:
● Degree or equivalent in related subject
● Project and Programme certified in Waterfall and Agile e.g PRINCE2, SCRUM, PMI, etc
● GCP - Foundational Google Digital Leader
● Azure - AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
