Shift Pattern: 10:30am – 10:30pm (Day Shifts)

We are recruiting Day Shift Support Workers to join our Ofsted-regulated therapeutic children's residential home in Cheshunt.

This is a fulfilling, hands-on role supporting children aged 10–17 with emotional and behavioural needs, helping them to feel safe, build trust, and develop confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent emotional, practical and social support to young people during day shifts
  • Support structured routines: meals, education, hobbies, appointments and recreational activities
  • Encourage independence, decision-making and personal responsibility
  • Act as a keyworker, supporting young people with personal goals and development plans
  • Apply trauma-informed practice to build safety, trust and emotional regulation
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing and structured home environment
  • Record clear and accurate daily notes in line with Ofsted standards
  • Participate in team meetings, reflective practice and supervision
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people (in residential care, youth work, social care, SEN or education)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
  • Empathy, patience, reliability and emotional resilience
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to form positive, professional relationships
  • Understanding of safeguarding, trauma and professional boundaries
  • Full UK driving licence desirable but not essential
