Contracts Manager

Job Summary
We're seeking a hands -on and highly organised Contracts Manager to take operational control of our teams and projects, allowing the directors more focus on business growth and client development. The role will be office-based in Doncaster with some site attendance as required (typically 2–3 days per week). Office hours: 08:00–16:30 with some work away due to nationwide coverage.
Responsibilities
- Manage all field engineers (roofing & fabric teams).
- Attend sites for pre-start meetings, surveys, and client handovers.
- Ensure all projects run efficiently, on time, and to the correct standard.
- Monitor and sign off site paperwork, RAMS, and project reports.
- Handle site issues, disciplinary matters, and performance management.
- Maintain direct communication with clients – attend progress meetings and build relationships.
- Work closely with the estimator and admin team to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Support in tender submissions, resource planning, and pricing when needed.
- Implement consistent systems for quality control, H&S compliance, and job reporting.
- Take ownership of team morale, structure, and accountability.
- Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure favourable terms and compliance with organisational policies.
- Monitor contract performance and compliance; implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Provide leadership and guidance to team members involved in contract administration and project management activities.
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing best practices in management, organisation, and communication.
Experience
- Proven experience in contract management within the construction sector or similar industries.
- Proven experience in man- management.
- Good understanding of IT systems including proficiency in Excel.
- Demonstrable skills in negotiation, leadership, time management, organisation, and communication.
- Previous experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to tight deadlines.
- Valid driving licence for site visits or stakeholder meetings.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure. This role offers an engaging environment for professionals eager to utilise their expertise in contract management while contributing meaningfully to organisational success.
